In fact, the program Smart Sénégal managed by the State IT Agency, has been carrying out major projects in Kaolack since January 2019.
The Governor of Kaolack expressed his satisfaction with the achievements of the program Smart Sénégal. “ADIE, here in Kaolack, like other regions of Senegal, is at the exclusive service of development, particularly health with the installation of wifi in hospitals, the Citizen's House which is a one-stop shop for administrative procedures, security with the Safe city project and education with Smart Education. We congratulate ADIE and we are committed to supporting it in its projects. »

The Minister of Health and Social Action, Mr. Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr, for his part praised the role of ADIE in the establishment of an e-health system in Senegal. At the El Hadj Ibrahima Niass hospital in Kaolack, the Director General of ADIE Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum introduced the Minister of Health to the WiFi device installed to allow users of this hospital establishment to connect with broadband.
“ADIE helps us use new technologies; everything that is connectivity in the health system to go as far as telemedicine. Today, the El Hadj Ibrahima Niass hospital in Kaolack, thanks to ADIE, benefits from an important system which allows total connectivity. ADIE has installed the same device in 17 hospitals and the project is a project to generalize digitalization everywhere in our health structures. » declared Minister Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr.
The Minister also underlined the importance of the strategic role that ADIE plays in the connectivity of administrations in general and particularly in the health system. “Very soon, we will enter the era of shared medical records, we will go paperless in the health system, and this is only possible if the entire health system is interconnected. The partner ADIE is with us in this important project and we will, in accordance with the vision of the Head of State, make the Administration in general a modern Administration, and the health system a system based on e- health. » he adds.
The Director General of ADIE Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum thanked the Governor and the Minister of Health for accompanying the delegation throughout the visit to Kaolack. He highlighted Huawei's important role in implementing the program Smart Sénégal and Free which supports the Smart Wifi project for internet connection in public places, notably at the Kaolack regional hospital.
Regarding the construction of the Kaolack Citizen's House, the Director General of ADIE specifies: “this house is almost 100% ready in terms of structural work, we are in the process of finalizing the second work. We already have the equipment to make this house operational at the start of 2021.”
For the last leg of the tour, the delegation of Smart Sénégal appreciated the quality of the internet connection deployed at the Heart of the City of Kaolack, always in collaboration with Free. “The Heart of the City is a 20-hectare complex that attracts a lot of people; all age groups and socio-professional categories are there. The choice of the Heart of the City is wise. In the heart of the city, there is the Virtual University of Senegal which has been established. Students will benefit a lot from this wifi, as will the populations of Kaolack, especially young people. » according to the Director of this complex Mr. Mbaye Ngom.
Finally, the Director General of ADIE Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum affirmed to be extremely satisfied with the progress of the work and that the dynamic would continue. “President Macky Sall, who entrusted us with this program, aims to digitally transform Senegal. We can see concrete actions being carried out on the ground for the benefit of the populations. »
