In the interest of territorial equity, the program Smart Sénégal carries out activities across the national territory. Each of the 45 departments benefits from the achievements of this program, the objective of which is to put digital technology to the benefit of populations to improve their living conditions, while supporting the economic development of Senegal in the priority sectors of the Emerging Senegal plan. This Wednesday, October 14, 2020, the delegation of Smart Sénégal led by the Director General of ADIE Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum continued his national tour with stops in Podor and Dagana. In the two departments of the Saint-Louis region, the activities carried out there concern the Smart Territories project with the establishment of Senegal Services spaces, and the “Smart Wifi” project with the installation of Konectel points in several places public to provide a high-speed connection to the populations of these localities.

“You did Dakar-Podor even though the distance is very far away. You have traveled 487 km to see the achievements in Podor. This is extremely meaningful to us. We really welcome this project Smart Sénégal and we hope that between ADIE and the town hall of Podor, cooperation will be continuous” affirmed Mr. Mamadou Wone who received, on behalf of Mayor Me Aissata Tall Sall, the delegation of Smart Sénégal at city hall.

Concerning the Senegal Services space built a stone's throw from the Podor town hall, the municipal authorities who also granted the land for the construction of this building through the program Smart Sénégal, say they are already reassured. They fully appreciate the interest of this future one-stop shop for the Administration, for the populations of Podor. “What we are already seeing reassures us. This Senegal Services space will help us a lot because throughout the Podor department, residents will certainly no longer make long trips to pick up a paper that costs 300 CFA Francs. People spend 15 to 20 CFA Francs to go to Saint-Louis to obtain a criminal record which costs 000 Francs. We take this opportunity to congratulate the Head of State on this project, and congratulate the Director General of ADIE and his entire team. »

Also in Dagana, the authorities are delighted with the construction of the Senegal Services space. The Town Hall even signed a memorandum of understanding with ADIE for the “Sénégal Services” project. “It will be something very beneficial for the populations. The Town Hall will support this Senegal Services space. It will be a win-win partnership between ADIE and the Town Hall, but in reality, it is the populations who will gain more” in the opinion of the first deputy mayor Anta Diop Niang. For his part, the Deputy Prefect of Dagana Hubert Lazart Birame Faye thinks that the Senegal Services space is the “symbol of a new era characterized by digitalization and by the facilitation of access to public services for the citizens of all departments. It is a feeling of satisfaction that drives us today. »

The Director General of ADIE Cheikh Bakhoum indicated that these spaces will be operated in close collaboration with town halls in the departments. “We want this to be a collaboration that will serve our fellow citizens, with an emphasis on the quality of service that meets the expectations of the Head of State. We want to be in fast-track mode for the delivery of all services in the Senegal Services area. »

The Director General of ADIE, who returned to the different aspects of the Senegal Services spaces, underlined the importance of the Call Centers planned in these buildings. “Not all populations know how to use digital platforms and they will be able to call a number that we will indicate to them to be guided in the use of online services, but also to follow up on their files already submitted. »

For the connectivity aspect, in Podor, 5 sites are connected. In the Dagana department, at least 5 sites have public wifi.

" The program Smart Sénégal has significant impacts in Podor, especially for young people. Public Wi-Fi is truly revolutionary in this area. You don't know how important it is for young people to have the connection. If you return to Podor, you will find many young people around the prefecture enjoying the connection. It is a need that ADIE comes to fill” according to the Deputy Prefect of Podor Moustapha Diaw.
