A program team Smart Sénégal, led by the Director General of the State IT Agency met this Thursday, August 20, 2020 the Governor and the Mayor of Fatick as well as the Rector of the University of Sine Saloum El Hadj Ibrahima Niass, for their share the progress of the program projects Smart Sénégal and take a tour of the different achievements.
The delegation was first welcomed by the Governor of Fatick Mrs. Seynabou Gueye who praised the remarkable work carried out by Smart Sénégal in the region and its importance for the populations. “The visit that the Director General of ADIE makes to Fatick to see for himself the achievements, testifies to the commitment he has for the program Smart Sénégal and the importance he attaches to it. All these projects carried out by Smart Sénégal will have to contribute to helping the populations of Fatick in relation to the public service in which we carry out the majority of our interventions. » according to the Governor.
She also called for the implementation of the Safe City project in the Fatick region. “In Dakar, there are a lot of cameras installed on both sides, having the same type of device would help us a lot. We need it to strengthen security in the region. »

The Mayor of the town of Fatick, who signed an agreement with the Director General of ADIE, says he is reassured by the Maison du Citoyen project “especially since the Head of State has implemented this program Smart Sénégal to support all local authorities, the Senegalese Administration. »
He adds that “the Fatick Town Hall had already initiated, when President Macky Sall was the Mayor of the city, a project called “Fatick of the future. He then began the computerization of civil status. Fatick is one of the very few towns that can deliver a birth certificate or civil status certificate within 5 minutes because we have IT. »
For his part, the Director General of ADIE Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum welcomes the commitment of the Mayor of Fatick. “The President of the Republic asked us to work so that the digitalization of the Administration can accelerate and the Citizen's House will certainly be a decisive instrument, a catalyst for industrializing the digitalization process of our Administration. The Director of ADIE announced the progress of this one-stop shop for the Administration. “The Citizen's House of Fatick, which is almost more than 90% complete, will be able to welcome, from the start of 2021, the first users who will be able to have administrative documents issued there in record time . »
The programme Smart Sénégal also began the installation of the connectivity device in the public places of Fatick. The delegation went to the Berges du Sine to appreciate the installations which will allow populations to access free high-speed internet.
In the afternoon, a visit was made to the University of Sine Saloum El Hadj Ibrahima Niass (USSEIN), a beneficiary of the Smart Education project. USSEIN already uses equipment deployed by Smart Education. “We were able to connect the university to the optical fiber of the administrative intranet, we deployed wifi on the USSEIN Kaolack campus and installed a multimedia room to allow students to do practical work using digital technology . We have deployed more than 100 computers, VDIs. » said Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum.
The Rector of USSEIN, Professor Ndeye Coumba Touré Kane, expressed his satisfaction. “Smart Education allowed us to put educational resources in the platform, train students and teachers on its use. Students have access to this platform and access digital resources remotely. It is a project that we welcome and which came at the right time. »
